Manchester United’s transfer budget for this summer is unclear, especially as a supporter-led anti-glazer campaign discourages sponsors.

Regardless, the club’s scouts were busy ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

A new player to join is the young up and coming player Kamaldeen Sulemana. The Mail reports on United’s interest in the player.

1) Kamaldeen Sulemana plays for the Danish FC Nordsjælland, which is fifth in the country’s SuperLiga. He signed a five-year contract with the club last year.

2) Sulemana, 19, came to Europe after playing at the Right To Dream Academy in Ghana, founded in 1999 by former Manchester United Boy Scout Tom Vernon.

3) The youngster plays as a left winger and has scored nine goals and six assists this season.

4) Sulemana has already been capped twice by Ghana’s national team and made his debut in late 2020.

5) According to FBRef, Sulemana leads the Danish Super League among all players in “shots on goal per 90 minutes”.

What you say…

The Mail report “Sulemana is considered the most successful footballer in Ghana since Chelsea star Michael Essien.”

FC Midtylland defender Erik Sviatchenko is quoted as saying by Goal: “When he just plays and knows when to play the ball, he’s amazing. He is fast, strong and understands the game like no other. He is on his way to something big and it is a pleasure to be tested against one of the great talents in Europe. “

Nordsjäland coach Flemming Pedersen even told TV3: “We’re talking about a player with a potential that is equal to Neymar and maybe even more because he’s even faster.”

The main threat

United face the competition from Ajax, who signed his Ghanaian compatriot Mohammed Kudus from North Jelland last summer.

Ajax football director Marc Overmars has admitted via Goal that they are interested.

The Dutch club could be seen as a safe intermediate step in the development of Sulemana and Kudus’ success at the club will help them.

Sulemana plays on the left wing and could take a break for Marcus Rashford in this position.

United, however, has young talent Anthony Elanga who has had a great season for the U-23s and plays in the same role.

The United Mail report sees Sulemana as a “safe investment”. In the Goal report, the winger could cost as little as £ 10m, which is just a little more than the fee Ajax paid for kudus last summer.
