Team news from Man United v Liverpool

Raphael Varane and Amad will definitely miss this game, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to remove anyone from the race before the game.

Marcus Rashford had a dead end in the second half of Wednesday’s victory. Fred hobbled away late too, and Solskjaer admitted that Bruno Fernandes also has doubts.

Anthony Martial was banned from this midweek encounter but trained with the squad on Thursday and could return here.

Solskjaer are trying to keep Liverpool in the dark about the make-up of the team that will start this game.

Our prediction: United against Liverpool

These huge clashes are always difficult to name. United’s recent performances have not been convincing and the midfield looks too open.

Perhaps Solskjaer will try to keep it tighter here and counter into the space behind the Liverpool full-backs.

Jürgen Klopp has also never led a team from Liverpool to victory in front of fans at Old Trafford.

We’ll never do anything other than support United against the team we love to beat best.

Our prediction: United 2-1 Liverpool
