Manchester United fans successfully managed to postpone Sunday’s game against Liverpool with a major protest against the Glazer family.
This leaves a big question as to when the Liverpool game can take place.
The Premier League says an announcement will be made “in due course,” Sky Sports reports.

No easy solutions
As has been the case for the entire season, there is a full schedule, and the league ends on Sunday 23 May.
The Premier League does not want any further procrastination. The league plays all of the finals at the same time to make sure the clubs don’t have a competitive advantage, especially those likely to be in a top 4 race like Liverpool.
There was one exception when the United-Bournemouth game was canceled due to fear of bombing and played a day later.
However, there are no dates beyond the 23rd. United are expected to play the Europa League final on May 26th.
A quick fix could be for the game to take place tonight, Monday May 3rd.
That would mean very little turnaround ahead of the United Europa League second leg against Roma on Thursday, but it could be the simplest solution.
United or Liverpool are in action every week between now and the rest of the season.
Other games may need to be moved and spaced to fit into this device.
It is possible that Liverpool’s midweek game with West Brom will be postponed to the weekend earlier on May 16 (when they are not in action) to fit into a midweek game with United.
There is currently no easy solution and the protests have certainly caused disruption, which was the intent.
United’s current schedule for May 2021
- Rome (A)
- Aston Villa (A)
- Leicester City (H)
12th of May
- Fulham (H)
- Wolves (A)
- Europa League Final (?)
