Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United is confirmed.
We’re just waiting for him to pass his medical exam and put the famous red shirt back on.
The club moved quickly to seize the chance to sign Ronaldo again as soon as it became clear he was leaving Juventus.
How much did Ronaldo cost United?
The BBC reports that United has agreed to pay £ 12.8m to bring Ronaldo back.
– 2003: United sign Ronaldo for £ 12.2million
– 2021: United sign Ronaldo for £ 12.8m
Both times an absolute bargain

This upfront transfer fee is a huge amount for United to bring back one of the greatest players in their history.
What about add-ons?
The Athletic claims the deal also includes around € 8 million (£ 6.9 million) in add-ons.
We don’t know what they are, of course, and Ronaldo has a two-year deal to reach them.
But even if the Portuguese megastar hits every single one, the transfer fee will be less than £ 20 million.
That is undeniable for a player of Ronaldo’s quality.
How much will Ronaldo make at United?
Di Marzio reports that United has offered Ronaldo a whopping £ 25m annual net salary.
That’s the equivalent of £ 480,000 a week. These are amazing numbers and that is why only a handful of clubs in the world can afford Ronaldo.
Ronaldo’s proven quality
United may need to take some outbound steps between now and Tuesday’s deadline.
Even with a relatively low transfer fee, the club will clearly invest a lot in the deal.
For a player of Ronaldo’s proven quality, it’s worth it. Especially when he brings the Premier League or Champions League back to Old Trafford.
