Raphael Varane’s outgoing Real Madrid team-mate Sergio Ramos has congratulated the center-back on joining Manchester United.

Ramos, who has just moved to Paris Saint-Germain himself, wished Varane all the best at Manchester United.

He also joked that if the two were to play against their clubs, Varane should let Ramos win as he plays for a French team.

Ramos wrote: “Dear Rapha, I can only thank you for these years of friendship, camaraderie and triumphs.

“And I wish you the best of luck in a new stage that is sure to be exciting. When we face each other, always with the team in your country, right? Watch out.”

Ramos and Varane won four Champions League trophies for Real and also celebrated national successes in Spain. Your departure leaves huge boots at the Bernabeu.

The Brazilian star Marcelo also had kind words for Varane and sent him a message about his move to Old Trafford.

United announced the move from Varane earlier this week. The deal is subject to a medical and announcement that is due to be carried out in the coming days.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already spoken about how excited he is with Varane’s arrival, telling the club website that the move, along with signing Jadon Sancho, will allow United to play in different ways.
