Sea Life Manchester offers guests the chance to do more than just dip their toes in the water with a brand new snorkel cage experience.
Starting Saturday, May 22nd, thrill seekers can get closer to more than 1,000 creatures of the deep than ever before! From the safety of a plexiglass cage, explorers can expect to see Black Tip Reef Sharks, Brown Banded Bamboo Sharks, and Tessa, the resident nurse shark.
In addition to sharks, snorkelers meet stingrays and the King and Queen of the SEA LIFE sea tank, Cammie & Ernie; the popular giant green sea turtles as well as over 30 other species of beautiful fish.
Jenn McDonough, General Manager, said, “Sea Life Manchester has inspired and taught families the wonders of marine life for many years. Our brand new experience, snorkeling with sharks is a fantastic addition to the attraction which is a truly immersive experience that promises to delight the most curious ocean explorers.
Movies like JAWS have sparked widespread fear of sharks among the public, but are in fact highly intelligent and by and large calm beings. With this new experience, we look forward to educating visitors about all of our wonderful marine animals and re-emphasizing the importance of caring for our oceans for generations. “
Snorkeling with sharks is a one hour snorkeling adventure. The activity is suitable for swimmers 10 years and older and includes a full briefing, an introduction to the incredible creatures that can be expected, and 20 minutes of snorkeling in the purpose-built shark cage.
Tickets are £ 40 per person and the session can be booked for 2 to 4 people from the same household or bubble.
