After Manchester United’s final Europa League defeat, players have understandably been slow to post on social media.
One player who did this was Scott McTominay, who was arguably United’s best player in Gdansk.
McTominay had a simple message to the backers, promising that this team will recover.
The team is obviously broken from the defeat and Marcus Rashford’s emotional interview after the game showed it.
United’s players are an enduring bunch, as evidenced by how they recovered from four semi-final defeats to win a fifth. Hopefully it won’t take that long to actually win cutlery.

McTominay has a big summer ahead of him with Scotland at Euro 2020. He will face England in the group stage of the tournament.
This season was a big one for him, he played more games than ever and scored the highest score ever for the club with seven goals.
McTominay took the opportunity and saved one of his best performances for the final, but unfortunately his team couldn’t quite get over the finish line.
He was one of the players United could be proud of and his message shows his mental strength. The team will need this now as they are experiencing one of the biggest lows in football.
