Eric Bailly and Amad’s international team-mate Ibrahim Sangare was pictured in a Manchester United shirt.

Sangare wore the jersey at a football tournament in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, where both Bailly and Amad were present.

Sangare, who plays as a defensive midfielder for PSV Eindhoven, wore United’s black and white third shirt.

The pictures were posted on Instagram by the tournament organizers.

Bailly and Amad were pictured and, oddly enough, Bailly was spotted wearing a French national shirt.

Who is Ibrahim Sangare?

Sangare, 23, is a defensive midfielder who has been touted as a top prospect for several seasons.

He has built a great reputation for himself in Ligue 1 with Toulouse. He was linked with a transfer to Southampton by Sky Sports last summer before opting for a £ 8.2m deal with PSV instead.

Sangare helped PSV finish second in the Eredivisie last season, playing in 29 league games.

During those games, he averaged 3.5 tackles per game, the second highest in the Eredivisie. He also averaged 2.1 interceptions per game, top 10 in the division.

Is he a player United would like to sign? Not at the moment. He would fit well though as defensive midfield is an area that needs reinforcement. Sangare is the right age and has a lot of potential.

With Declan Rice far too expensive considering United’s other needs, it would be preferable to find a cheaper defensive midfielder than not signing one at all.

There’s no real explanation for why Sangare wore a United shirt other than the fact that he just wanted it. It’s a long dream that a dream will come true, but you never know …
