Manchester United fans are waiting for Raphael Varane to be officially introduced and then to join the first team for training.

For now, he is in quarantine before he can undergo medical treatment.

Not interested in being locked up indoors, Varane was pictured kicking around a ball in the back garden of his new Manchester accommodation.

This is our first look at Varane kicking a ball around as a Manchester United player, so we’re going to take it.

The big transfer for the four-time Champions League winner is almost complete. Varane is scheduled to start training in the middle of next week.

In an interview with the club’s website, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said on Saturday: “The doctor’s visit to Raphael has to be made. He is isolating himself at the moment, he had to wait for visas.

“It took a few days longer than expected, unfortunately, but we will be following the protocols and rules, so it took a few days longer than we had hoped.”

Jadon Sancho is expected to start training on Monday and both players could be in the squad for next Saturday’s game against Leeds.

Solskjaer added: “We need a little more fitness. Hopefully we will get Raphael and Jadon into the group. “
