Manchester United’s number seven was pictured for the first time at Carrington.

Striker Edinson Cavani was featured in United’s latest training footage on Friday afternoon and looks forward to being back.

Cavani was given a longer hiatus after a summer at the Copa America.

At today’s press conference, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “Edinson has always taken care of himself.

“Of course he lacks team training, football training, but he takes care of himself and you can see that.

“He had various reasons why he was late, personal reasons, but his body can take a lot. It wasn’t that he physically needed those extra days.

“He’s eating the teeth, he’s ready to go and let’s see how much we can get out of him early.”

It is unclear whether Cavani will travel to Southampton with the team, but since there will only be one game left before the international break, United will use Cavani until then.

His inclusion on the bench alone could have a small impact on a team against whom he scored three goals in two games last season.

It’s great to see him again and hopefully he can return where he left off and finish last season in splendid shape.
