Orchard Street Investment Management (‘Orchard Street’), the specialist commercial real estate investment manager, has completed two leases on six floors of its flagship Bauhaus office in Manchester city center.

Connex One, specialist in software-as-a-service customer engagement, has a contract to occupy a 17,837 square foot area over both 5NS, 6thNS and 7th floor with a five-year lease as the company continues to expand its global headquarters.

Connex One was founded in 2013 by the two brothers Nick & Richard Mealey, the growing company that today comprises more than 250 global team members with additional offices in the USA, Australia, South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria. Connex One’s incredible growth makes it one of the closest companies to North West Unicorn status. Your new headquarters will be fully equipped and furnished by the landlord Orchard Street, with Connex One expected to be gradually occupied from November onwards.

Connex One is joined by the hybrid office brand NewFlex, which operates more than 40 flexible offices across the UK and occupies 13,731 sq ft in the Bauhaus and offers workplaces under its Bold brand. Bold is a purpose-built “Space-as-a-Service” brand that creates engaged communities that make an impact on the world by promoting entrepreneurship and innovation.

Orchard Street acquired the Bauhaus in 2013 and then completed a complete renovation of the nine-story building. This project focused on optimizing the user experience both by improving the building’s sustainability and wellbeing and by creating a robust digital infrastructure platform that resulted in the building being rated by WiredScore for its digital connectivity.

Orchard Street recently announced that the Bauhaus will be the UK’s first renovated building to be WELL Gold (Core & Shell) certified.
