New Talent Fashion is delighted to announce the inaugural launch of Northern Fashion Week, a three-day event offering a platform to up and coming designers in the UK’s North (and regions), championing creative emerging talent from Northern educational institutes as well as showcasing established and game changing organizations in the fashion, creative and media landscape.

The brand-new event promises to support northern talent and develop the northern industry, showcasing the most exciting emerging and established designers and brands in the fashion world.

Northern Fashion Week will launch with catwalk shows, talks, exhibits, panels, networking events and more. The event aims to be accessible to all industry creatives and fashion creatives interested in the ever-evolving fashion business.

Catwalk shows and presentations will see categories including ‘Northern Emerging Brands’, ‘British Emerging Designer’ and ‘International Emerging Designer’ play host to a wealth of up-and-coming northern fashion designers and brands.

Working alongside local universities and regional educational providers, Northern Fashion Week will support their growth and development so visitors will discover emerging and exciting fashion talent exhibiting, taking part in talent, and showcasing their work during the events.

Siobhan Clare O’Donnell, Founder and CEO, Northern Fashion Week & New Talent Fashion says: “Northern Fashion Week has been created to build opportunities for northern talent to showcase their skills and give them a fair chance within the wider fashion industry. We have a thriving and growing industry with exceptional fashion industrial innovations and inspirational talent which Northern Fashion Week aims to represent and celebrate. Creating this platform to showcase, educate, and inspire builds much needed exposure for independent brands and new emerging talent”.

By placing an essential spotlight on the vast opportunities and exciting talent coming through in the North of England, the event aims to inspire the next generation of talent and young professionals who are critical to the industry’s progression. Northern Fashion Week promises to create an immersive environment for art, culture and heritage sectors to collide, bringing together a range of businesses with diversity and inclusivity at the heart of its mission.

Alongside the host of catwalk shows and events, NFW is delighted to introduce the Northern Fashion Week Awards, open to all across the industry with categories focused on sustainability, diversity and LGBTQI+ designers. The winners will be chosen by a hand-selected industry judging panel to be announced.

Northern Fashion Week takes place from 4th to 9th July 2022, with the main events taking place from 7th – 9th July at Manchester Central.
