Erik ten Hag has held his press conference ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League opener against Brighton.
Predictably he was asked about Cristiano Ronaldo would be fit to start. He made no promises, simply stating: “We will see Sunday.”
He added he is ‘still searching’ to strengthen the squad, and asked about the absence of injury of Anthony Martial, he pledged: “We will have solutions to sort it out.”
In reference to new signings Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez, he said: “I think they are fit enough to start.”

Ten Hag was also asked about the club’s midfield options, and whether they are strong enough.
He said: “I think so. We saw pre-season we did pretty well in that department. I’m convinced we have a good team.”
The manager re-affirmed he would still like to strengthen the squad, but added: “I am really happy. We have a top side.”
Ten Hag also gave very short shrift to journalists trying to make headlines out of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving early at the weekend, shutting down questions and repeating the matter has been dealt with, and that Ronaldo was one of a number of players involved.
He said: “I am happy with the signings to now. You don’t just need any player, we need the right players.”
