After the start of the pre-season season with the Manchester United first team, Hannibal is currently back with the U23.

Hannibal’s first team picture is just a little too full. He’s doing his best to get back on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s radar.

On Tuesday afternoon, Hannibal scored a distance goal in United’s U23 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Hannibal also provided an assist in the 4-2 victory. The goal was a perfect example of his skill, which makes United fans confident that he can reach the top.

High hopes

Hannibal is already a Tunisian international. Last season he provided more assists for the Manchester United U23s than any other player.

So a big question for Manchester United is what to do with Hannibal this season. His goal highlighted his potential and the Red Devils’ dilemma before the transfer window.

Hannibal is talented enough to stay and earn minutes for Manchester United first team.

But let’s face it, he won’t get enough minutes to make staying a satisfactory option.

United extended Juan Mata’s contract and currently expect to keep Jesse Lingard. Both players are blocking Hannibal’s path and there is a very good chance that only one or neither will be at Old Trafford in 12 months.

The best course of action could be for United to loan Hannibal for 12 months so that he can continue to improve his first-team skills.

There will be a debate about what level to send him to. Should he take a few lumps in the championship and the premier league and be kicked around while he toughens himself up a bit?

Or could his technical skills be best suited for a development loan in Portugal or the Netherlands? Either way, United has a decision to make.

If Hannibal stays, he might start with the U23 but United needs to give him the opportunity to move up as the season progresses. He made a first appearance in the first team too far at the end of last season.

Hannibal is a creative player who scores and creates goals, and the young midfielder, at 18 years old, is a player United must allow to reach his potential.

Here’s a look at the reaction of United supporters to Hannibal’s goal …

This child is special. I can’t wait to see him on the first team.

Pogba knocked 3 or 4 of these for the academy every year, a good sign !!

Hannibal came at halftime for the U23s, set up a goal, won a penalty and scored a 25-yard belter. Keep him in the first team roster.

Top, top talent. Earned first team minutes this season. In my opinion, it can be an excellent support for Bruno.

This boy is a very special man. Sometimes I wish we could fast forward 5 years to see him destroy the prem.

– Niarra (@Niarra__) August 10, 2021

Sends him on loan so he can join the first team next season

That’s why we don’t need Lingard or Andreas. Could easily break the bank but be withheld instead
