Edinson Cavani scored an outstanding goal to delight the returning crowd at Old Trafford.
Cavani’s goal was his 16th goal of the season and 10th in the Premier League.
This now means that United are the first club this season to have three players in the double digits in the league.
Bruno Fernandes has scored 18 Premier League goals (out of a total of 28) and Marcus Rashrod has scored 11 (out of a total of 21).
This makes Fernandes, Rashford and Cavani with 18, 11 and 10 together the most productive league trio in England’s top division this season.

How do others compare?
Mohammed Salah has 22 league goals for Liverpool but he is the only player in the double digits in the league. Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane both have nine so they can keep up with United’s trio before the end of the season.
League winners Manchester City only have two players in the double digits, Ilkay Gundogan with 13 and Raheem Sterling with 10.
Chelsea don’t have a single player in the double digits in the Premier League.
Leicester has two, Jamie Vardy (13) and Kelechi Iheanacho (12). Harvey Barnes is nine and could join them.
Tottenham has Harry Kane on the 22nd and Heung-Min Son on the 17th, Gareth Bale follows on nine. Arsenal have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the 13th, Alexandre Lacazette on the 10th, but no one else around. While Leeds has Patrick Bamford on the 16th, he’s their only player in double digits.
United are not far from having a fourth. Mason Greenwood has scored seven league goals and while it is certainly too late for him to hit ten this season, he would be there if he didn’t have a hat trick on the last day, if he didn’t start the season badly. Until March he only had one league goal.
Cavani plays a role in two other attractions
According to BBC Sport, Cavani helped set two records thanks to his goal …
1) Cavani is the third United player after Teddy Sheringham (2000-01) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (2016-17) to score 10 or more goals in a season earlier this season, aged 33 or older.
2) Cavani is the 25th distinct player to score 10 or more goals in a single Premier League season for United. Previously, United was linked to Arsenal with 24 players each.
Attack versus defense
With 71 goals, United have scored the second-highest goal in the Premier League this season, just behind leaders City (78).
While the team haven’t quite clicked in last night’s 1-1 draw lately, attacking isn’t generally United’s biggest problem, although some fine-tuning remains to be done.

It’s defensive that United were insufficient. Everyone who wants to win has conceded primarily goals and the defensive record at home is the worst in over a decade.
United have conceded 43 goals, just like ninth-placed Everton and only one less than 15th Brighton.
It’s still enough for United to have the sixth best defensive record in the division, but the backline is nothing special. City have conceded 11 fewer goals and that is an area United needs to improve.
