While Andreas Pereiras Lazio managed to overtake Manchester United in the Champions League with the last 16, they are now out of European competition.

Pereira will watch carefully as United under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer attempt to win a semi-final against Roma for the first time.

Roma are bitter rivals to Pereiras Lazio and the United loanee sent a message of support ahead of today’s first leg.

Pereira’s message will help popularize him with Lazio fans and that could be positive for United.

The Brazilian midfielder appears to have no future at United after being thrown aside by Solskjaer as soon as Bruno Fernandes arrived and the Red Devils are a better side for that.

Even so, Pereira has graduated from United’s academy and knows what a trophy win will mean for the club right now and he clearly supports the Red Devils to win the competition.

How is Pereira doing in Lazio?

When Pereira signed for Lazio, he was signed to replace attacking midfielder Luis Alberto.

He found it difficult to keep a regular place on the team and start three poor Serie A games.

He has played as a substitute 19 times. While he is clearly valued as a squad player, he likely hasn’t done enough to deserve a permanent move.

Pereira has three assists and one goal from a total of 29 appearances.

He has yet to face the Roma and hopes to play a role when the two teams face each other in May.
