Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes Manchester United’s upcoming appointment of his “outstanding” influential compatriot Ralf Rangnick is “not good news for other teams”.

Rangnick is to become the club’s interim manager until the end of the season and then, according to Athletic, take on a two-year advisory role at the club.

The German coach, who is currently head of sport and development for the Russian team Lokomotiv Moscow, had a great influence on Klopp, Thomas Tuchel and Julian Nagelsmann.

Famed for his talent scouting and counter-pressing, the 63-year-old is expected to be tasked with rebuilding a talented Manchester United dressing room that looked broken in the final stages of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tenure.

But Klopp has praised Rangnick and paid tribute to him for building two of his former clubs Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig “from scratch”.

Klopp said of talkSPORT: “Unfortunately a good coach comes to England, to Manchester United!” said Klopp.

“That’s the way it is. He’s a really experienced manager who has built two clubs from scratch with Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig.

“He’s done a lot of different jobs in football, but his first concern is to be a coach and that’s his best skill.

“United is organized on the pitch and that’s not good news for other teams [in the Premier League].

“Ralf will quickly find that he doesn’t have time to train because United are playing all the time, but a really good man and a great coach will come to England when it happens.”

United fans will hope that Rangnick, with his first managerial role at the club before moving to a hierarchical position, can help us bridge the gap with Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool and fight for big trophies again.

Caretaker Manager Michael Carrick will continue to be responsible for the club’s clash at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
