Juan Mata has sent a word of encouragement to Manchester United youngster Shola Shoretire.
Mata responded after Shoretire spoke to him in a recent interview.
The two came on late against Newcastle in February when Shoretire made his debut and became United’s seventh-youngest player of all time.

Message of encouragement
Mata’s message shows what a class he is. Although he could have just texted Shoretire in private, he clearly wants to talk and encourage the talented teenager.
Shoretire, 17, had a very strong season for the Manchester United U23 side.
The youngster scored 10 goals and provided six assists. He was the second highest contributor in both categories.
Shoretire’s path for next season is currently unclear. He will get the chance to show what he can do in the pre-season phase. Many first-team stars are not expected until late after the international match.
Mata’s future is even more uncertain. He has to decide whether to accept United’s proposed contract extension or go for a free transfer. A decision will be made in a few days and his contract will expire on June 30th.
Should he leave this could open more chance for Shoretire. If he stays, however, the upside is that Shoretire can learn from Mata up close for another season.
