Jadon Sancho, coming off the bench, was a terrifying sight for a Leeds side who were already 5-1 behind Manchester United.

Sancho came on as part of a double substitution in the 75th minute after Manchester United had already won the season opener.

By the time the winger was introduced, the competition was over and Sancho was effectively participating in a training game.

It was a debut he will not forget, with a noisy Old Trafford audience giving him a big ovation.

Sancho sent a message after United’s 5-1 win, celebrating the occasion and also referencing the outstanding performances of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes.

Sancho didn’t have too much time to take effect and made a total of 16 touches.

He had a late chance to play on a pass in Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but it didn’t quite work out.

Sancho will get in the mood for his teammates in more time and his fitness will improve. It’s just great to see him in red at this stage.

His transfer has been talked about non-stop for the past two years, and this was when it really became a reality when he was introduced to a crammed Old Trafford.

The best is yet to come and Sancho will do his best this week to secure a spot against Southampton next weekend.
