Jadon Sancho had to wait a long time to join Manchester United. Now he’s where he wanted to be.

Sancho said goodbye to Borussia Dortmund on social media for a long time. When it came time to message his new club and confirm his move, he kept it short and sweet.

Sancho’s Instagram post attracted a lot of attention not only from fans, but also from his professional colleagues.

Tottenham’s Dele Alli congratulated him, as did Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell and AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori.

Leverkusen’s winger Leon Bailey also said “Congratulations” to Sancho, while the new team-mate, if he stays, greeted him from Jesse Lingard for the time being.

Former United contender and ex-England U17 team-mate Angel Gomes wrote that “red looks good” on Sancho. We don’t disagree.

Sancho had a lot more to say

Sancho’s communication was not limited to just five words. He had a lot to say in his first official interview as a Manchester United player.

Speaking to the club’s website, Sancho said he was excited about the squad that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is building.

He said: “I can see the development that is going on here and I want to be part of it, especially because it’s such an iconic club and being part of it is kind of a dream come true. I am sure my family will be proud that I took this big step. “

Sancho explained that in the course of the summer the long-awaited change came about rather quickly from his point of view.

He said: “To be fair, when I was in Dortmund I just played my football, cut out all the noise and focused on what I and my team needed to achieve. Obviously when I was at Euro things started to run even more and I heard that United was interested and I’m here today. “

To many fans, it didn’t seem real that Sancho had signed, even though we knew he had it from the July 1st agreement until the pictures were finally released on Friday afternoon, 23 days later.

The whole process was an excruciating wait until last summer and even before that. But the reason we all wanted him so badly was because he is an amazing young talent that will be worth the wait.

It doesn’t all have to come together at once. There will be bumps like many young players but Sancho has the talent and determination to deal with whatever comes his way and electrify Old Trafford for the season to come and beyond.
