Paul Pogba’s second-half performance was one of the bright spots in Manchester United’s 1-1 draw in Southampton.

The assist was his fifth in two games and he leads the Premier League so far.
Match of the Day host Gary Lineker used social media to applaud the Frenchman and his style of play.
I love watching @paulpogba play. Makes the game look so easy. So simple that some mistakenly believe that he doesn’t always care.

Assist recording within reach
The Premier League’s all-time assist record is 20. Pogba is a quarter of the way there after two games.
The fact that Pogba only made three contributions in the Premier League last season suggests that he will inevitably slow down and a repeat of his four in an opener game is very unlikely.
Still, he’s got off to a perfect start and has a chance to get close to the record if he continues in this role.
Whether Pogba will continue with the return of Marcus Rashford remains to be seen, he will be pushed into a deeper role, which stifles his creativity.
Pogba would undoubtedly trade all of the individual benchmarks for a trophy or two, but this game at St. Mary’s could mean that United could fall short again this season.
It’s just a game and we don’t want to overreact, but the team lacked the killer instinct and Edinson Cavani needed the lead as soon as possible.
