Manchester United youngster D’Mani Mellor is working hard on his comeback.
Mellor suffered a cruciate ligament injury last summer and missed the entire season.
The injury was an especially cruel blow considering he had already missed football for months due to the suspension.

Mellor was prepared to become United’s leading striker in the U23 and had to sit out for the entire season.
He posted an encouraging picture on his Instagram this morning showing he is back wearing football boots as he pushes his comeback.
Mellor is on track to hopefully be fit again at the start of the pre-season 2021/22.
ACL injuries typically take a year to recover and Mellor seems to be on the right track.
What’s next for Mellor?
Mellor’s contract situation is a bit unclear. Transfermarkt say his contract expires this summer, but he was not featured on United’s published or maintained list.
United have always tried to do justice to the club’s young players and there is a very good chance that Mellor will be given extra time for next season to prove himself.
If he is sustained, he would move to United’s U23 team. Mellor is only 20 years old and has a good record at this level. In November 2019, he even made his debut for the Red Devils first team against Astana.
There is now additional competition as Joe Hugill impressed for the U23 last season and Charlie McNeill is expected to move up too.
Either way, it’s good to see Mellor hit the road again.
