Manchester United have confirmed that Di’Shon Bernard has signed a new “long-term” deal.

Bernard was pictured signing his new deal and said on Instagram he was “very happy” to be involved with the club.

The news came out the same day the defense attorney’s loan move to Hull City was confirmed.

He spoke to his new club’s website about the league move after being loaned to Salford City in League 2 last season.

“It will be a big step up for me. Being in the second division with Salford last season was a good experience for me, playing against some great strikers and grown men.

“The championship will test me in this regard as well as in terms of technical ability. I am sure it will be good for me and hopefully I can do it well.

“I’m very excited to be coming to Hull City and hopefully it will be a very exciting season for us. I’ve joined a big club in the Premier League over the past few years and I hope I can try to get us to that level. ”

“I can use someone like Harry Maguire as inspiration. He’s someone who has shown that you don’t always come straight from the academy into the first team.

“Sometimes you borrow, play games at different levels, and so keep developing.”

Mason Greenwood led the academy’s graduates who congratulated Bernard on his new deal.

Anthony Elanga and Nathan Bishop were also among those sending messages of goodwill.

Bernard is right, the championship is a big step up and will test him in a number of ways.

But Maguire is a good role model when it comes to inspiration. His path to the top wasn’t straightforward, but he’s now a great player for both the club and the country.
