Dan James posted a farewell message to Manchester United fans.

James’ move to Leeds was confirmed by the club earlier on the deadline.

The winger said joining United from Swansea helped him grow as a player and as a person.

United made a profit

Manchester United eventually made a profit with Dan James after agreeing to cash out.

United paid £ 15million to sign James from Swansea City in June 2019.

Two years and 74 games later, United sold James to Leeds for £ 25million.

James almost signed for Leeds months before moving to Old Trafford when the move failed.

Now he’s moved to Elland Road, a club that is now better suited to his career development as he has better chances of playing regularly.

Competition for places at Manchester United is intense and it would have gotten tougher for James in the future as players like Amad, Anthony Elanga and Facundo Pellitri all try to keep going.

James played an important role for United in terms of the attitude Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted from his players on the pitch and the manager will be looking for that same commitment from those staying at Old Trafford.
