Bruno Fernandes summed up United’s mindset with a message on social media. He says the team is going to Italy to win.

Fernandes is determined

Fernandes inspired United’s semi-final win by scoring two goals and providing two assists.

He made a total of 42 goals for the season, an astonishingly high number.

Fernandes was invited to speak at United’s press conference and said he wanted more. He is always looking for improvements and wants team success.

He said: “In terms of numbers, it was the best because it was the first time we had two goals and two assists. Of course it was a good game. I also think I played very well individually. I want to improve – so maybe next time three assists and two goals.

“The most important thing for us is the way we win and we’re closer to getting a trophy.”

There will be some who believe Fernandes shouldn’t play Roma and be rested with a number of Premier League games on the horizon.

But he is so important to United with his attitude and personality as well as his quality on the pitch that Solskjaer will likely start him again.
