Bruno Fernandes scored his first hat trick for Manchester United on the first day of the 2020/21 season.

Fernandes has only played a handful of games in front of a crowded Old Trafford and this was his chance to make up for lost time.

He has done brilliantly, bringing his United career goal record to 43 goals in a Red Devils shirt.

Fernandes joked about his three goals, noting that by then he had done it because he wanted to wait for the fans to be down.

Fernandes was assisted by Paul Pogba, who provided four assists to victory.

This was notably the first time Fernandes and Pogba had competed together in front of a crowd at Old Trafford.

Pogba was injured when Fernandes joined the club in January 2020 until it was locked in early March.

Both players were inspired by the crowd and while Leeds were weak defensively, United took full advantage of them.

Fernandes clearly appreciated the fans and the feeling was too.
