The center-back made a cross from Hannibal, who played great that night, home.

Hardley sent a message after the game reflecting on the loss and his first goal.

Hardley has made his 31st game for United’s academy teams since joining from NAC Breda in 2019.

27 of those games were for United’s U18s and that game was his fourth game for the U23s.

Hardley is playing an important role for United’s U23 this season after advancing.

Will Fish and Di’Shon Bernard have been loaned out and Teden Mengi is expected to follow suit, so United have the center-backs in their sights.

This was his first EFL Trophy game, a new experience of playing against senior teams and a lesson to learn from.

United’s defense was caught three times by Lincoln striker Anthony Scully, who was too sharp and hit twice with his feet and once with his head.
