‘Big developments’ are expected concerning a potential deal to take Lisandro Martinez to Manchester United, according to Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan.
Van der Kraan told De Telegraaf, also reported by The MEN, that Martinez would be very open to a move to the Red Devils.
After a fee was agreed for Feyenoord’s Tyrell Malacia earlier this week, The Times reported United would be turning attention to Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.
The Red Devils have reportedly asked to be kept up to date on Martinez’s status, with Arsenal also attempting to sign the Argentine defender.

‘Big developments’ expected over Lisandro Martinez
Van der Kraan says there is expected to be significant movement on the potential deal for Lisandro Martinez over the next couple of days.
He explained: “Martinez is very high on Erik ten Hag’s wishlist, so I expect big developments in the next 24 or 48 hours.
“Martinez will also have his hopes pinned on United, who are an absolute top club for him.”
The defender’s reported desire to join United would be key, as even if Arsenal were able to agree a fee first, he would likely hold on for a chance to head to Old Trafford instead.
United have a key advantage thanks to manager Erik ten Hag, who signed him for Ajax as a replacement for Matthijs de Ligt.
The Argentina international told newspaper Ole that his idol growing up was former United defender Gabriel Heinze.
The Telegraph report Ajax would hold out for £45 million, although a bidding war could potentially push this price higher.
