Do we expect Amad to start for Manchester United against Liverpool? Probably not, provided the game continues this time.

But Amad earned the opportunity to take the field for the second straight year at Old Trafford after impressing as a starter against Leicester.

With support for Mason Greenwood, Amad set a 15-year Premier League record. It was the first time since 2006 that two teenagers had teamed up for a goal and an assist, BBC Sport reported.

While the record was remarkable for so long, it was very special for Amad to have a role in breaking it when he made his first appearance in the Premier League.

This time from the bank?

We expect United to have a strong front four from Edinson Cavani in front, Bruno Fernandes behind him and Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba in front.

Rashford in particular is unlikely to play every 90 minutes, and neither is Cavani.

The likely change would result in Greenwood replacing Cavani after 60-70 minutes and hopefully Amad replacing Rashford.

With Anthony Martial and Dan James still injured, Amad would be next in line if Rashford had to be withdrawn.

Amad earned it on Tuesday evening. He’s proven he can make a difference and now he’s got a first-team goal and assist in 174 minutes.

He has four goals and three assists in three U23 games.

Even if he only has 15 to 20 minutes against Liverpool, it can be enough to make an impact and it will be a great learning opportunity for him.

These games offer Solskjaer great opportunities to learn more about Amad, especially given the quality of the opponent. With James and Martial there is an additional reason to use it.

There is no reason to push Rashford through 90 minutes after his 90th game over the weekend and half an hour against Leicester. Amad will be grateful for one more opportunity and while there will be more battles against Fulham and Wolves next week, getting the chance to play in Liverpool even if it only lasts fifteen minutes is a little more special.
