Alex Telles suffered an injury at an unfortunate point in his career at Manchester United.

Telles had the chance to put together a number of games in the preseason and ease the pressure on Euro 2020 hero Luke Shaw to launch the campaign.

But after an ankle injury that he sustained in preparation for the season, Telles is now on the verge of sideline.

The Brazilian posted a message on Instagram reflecting on his injury and vowing to come back stronger.

The message from Telles received supportive responses from teammates Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes.

It comes a week after Telles played 45 minutes in United’s opening game of the pre-season derby. He missed Saturday’s game at QPR.

About the injury, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said on the club’s website: “Unfortunately Alex slipped and twisted his ankle, so he will be out for a few weeks. We hope it doesn’t get that bad, but he’s out for a while. “

Telles is likely to miss the season opener with Leeds and could also be out of the following Premier League games against Southampton and Wolves before the international break.

United is a bit short left-back in the meantime and Shaw is still on vacation. Brandon Williams played most of the game at QPR and will likely face Brentford at Old Trafford mid-week.
