Alejandro Garnacho signed a professional contract a year after joining Manchester United.
Garnacho signed at the age of 16 and left Atletico Madrid. Marca reported that he refused Borussia Dortmund to sign with United.
After turning 17 earlier this month, Garnacho has signed a professional deal with United.
He posted on Instagram that the contract was a “dream come true”.
Garnacho is an exciting offensive player who idolizes Cristiano Ronaldo and Atletico Madrid wanted to keep him.
His first season with the U18 was a solid one, scoring seven goals from the left, including a hat trick.
He is expected to play a bigger role in the coming season as several players advance to the U23.
Garnacho could even be promoted to the U23. He was substituted on for the U23 against Stalybridge Celtic last night and scored a goal in a 5-1 win.
In the pouring rain, he grabbed a pass from Charlie Savage and circled the goalkeeper to score the fourth goal for United.
The youngster is a player who loves to play against players and also has a knack for getting to the box at the right time.
If his first year was a season to settle in from abroad and adapt to England on and off the pitch, the 2021/22 season could be a big one for him.
