While posting an emotional tribute to Lisandro Martinez, Ajax have politely told Manchester United to ‘take care’ of the Argentine.
The 24-year-old has joined the Red Devils on a five-year deal, with the club having the option of extending his contract by a further 12 months.
Martinez becomes Erik ten Hag’s third signing since taking the reins at Old Trafford, the seven-time Argentina international joins Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen as our summer signings.

Ten Hag signed Martinez for Ajax from Argentina side Defensa in 2019.
Martinez made 120 appearances under the Dutchman and the pair won four trophies together, including back-to-back Eredivisie titles.
United’s latest signing has the versatility to play at centre-back, left-back and midfield. He was crowned Ajax’s player of the year last season and was part of the Argentina side that won Copa America.
