Roma appear to be accepting underdog status in this week’s Europa League semi-finals against Manchester United.
The first leg will take place on Thursday evening at Old Trafford. United fans still fondly remember the famous 7-1 win in 2007.
Roma striker Edin Dzeko is a player United fans know well from his time at City. He also scored against United with Wolfsburg in home and away defeats in 2009.

The 35-year-old Dzeko is still one of the Roma men’s dangers and has scored eleven goals this season.
Still, Dzeko himself admits that United are favorites to win the semi-finals.
The Bosnian striker told TMW: “We don’t play in the semi-finals every day. We know your strengths.
“Manchester United will certainly start as favorites, but the fact that we made it to the semi-finals gives us the right to believe.
“We know that we are too. We have quality, but first we have to play as a team. Then anything is possible in football. “
He added: “I haven’t returned to Manchester since I left City six years ago. It will be a special game for me as it was a derby a few years ago. European games, especially against opponents of this caliber, are something special. I expect a great game against Manchester United. “
Dzeko has a strange record against United, having played nine times with Wolfsburg and City against us and never drew.
He has won four games, suffered five losses and scored seven goals in the process. Seven to nine against United is a good record, although the last of those games was back in 2015.
Despite his good record for Roma this season, Dzeko has only scored in one of his last seven games.
A little further back, he’s only got three in his last 18 for club and country. However, with a track record like his with 290 career goals at the club, United needs to watch his skills, especially when defending set pieces.
