Donnarumma (Italy); Spinazzola (Italy), Chiellini (Italy), Maguire (England), Walker (England); Hojbjerg (Denmark), Jorginho (Italy), Pedri (Spain), Chiesa (Italy), Sterling (England); Lukaku (Belgium).

While Missing the first two games, Maguire was a colossus after his recovery, helping England on both ends of the pitch.

He scored in the quarterfinals on an assist from Luke Shaw, one of three left-backs made available at the tournament. Shaw also scored in the final before England lost on penalties.

Spinazzola missed the final due to an injury and while his performances have been impressive and noticeable, Shaw’s exit seems a bit tough.

Paul Pogba may also feel a little distressed about his omission. However, France just didn’t get far enough and were eliminated in the round of 16.

All players named in the XI reached at least the semi-finals, with the exception of Lukaku, who was eliminated in the quarter-finals.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the tournament’s top scorer with five goals from four games.
